No one should go hungry.
Such a simple yet powerful statement.
We live in a state that feeds the country and the world, yet many Iowans don't know where to turn for their next meal. The pandemic has only made this situation worse. And while food insecurity can affect anyone, it is more prevalent in diverse and marginalized communities, compounding inequities.
As we talked with community leaders, the severity of this issue became clear to us. It also led to the question: "As a media company, how can we at Business Publications Corp. (BPC) use our voice to create awareness and inspire action?"
The answer is Iowa Stops Hunger, a joint, statewide project between our three flagship BPC publications — the Business Record, dsm magazine and ia magazine — and presenting sponsor Hy-Vee to help stop hunger and fight food insecurity in Iowa.
We invite you to join us as we continue the journey to raise awareness and spur action to stop hunger through virtual events, stories, videos, a dedicated website, a custom magazine, social media and a Corporate Challenge for the business community.
No Iowan should go hungry. It’s that simple, powerful and achievable! Please join us in making this a reality.
