Corporate Challenge Action Steps 2024

The Iowa Stops Hunger Corporate Challenge is part of a statewide initiative created by BPC, in partnership with presenting sponsor Hy-Vee, to drive awareness and action around hunger and food insecurity in Iowa. As part of that effort, organizations committed themselves to taking at least one action to help stop hunger, while educating their workforce and the community about this critical issue and inspiring others to take action to end hunger in Iowa. Every action, no matter how large or how small, is needed in order to continue sustained awareness and action toward ending hunger. We hope these organizations’ actions help inspire you to take an action to help end hunger in the community. 

WesleyLife Meals on Wheels 

Serving those in need in Central Iowa 

WesleyLife Meals on Wheels helps combat food insecurity in Central Iowa by delivering thousands of hot, delicious and healthy meals to older adults and military veterans. We cater primarily to those whose diminished mobility or capacity makes it challenging to shop for groceries or cook, but our dedicated team of drivers and volunteers provides much more than meals — they also bring the joy of meaningful daily human connection to those we serve. WesleyLife Meals on Wheels delivered nearly 360,000 meals last year; now, working from our new Meals on Wheels campus with its commercial kitchen, hydroponic farm and space for intergenerational programming, it’s our hope that our reach and impact will broaden dramatically over the years to come. We are honored to continue to serve those in need in Central Iowa!

Mom’s Meals

Fighting food insecurity in our communities 

Helping combat food insecurity is an issue that directly aligns with our mission of improving life through better nutrition at home. We work with local food banks and other community-based organizations to donate our ingredients and shelf-stable meals.

In addition, Mom’s Meals developed the Hunger Challenge initiative and has pledged to donate 30,000 medically tailored meals providing short-term access to home-delivered meals to those who may not qualify for other programs.
